Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. When she was just five years old and moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled at the Dragon School. Emma's goal was to be an actor. When she was six, she joined the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch in which she was taught classes in acting, singing as well as dancing. Her performances had been in numerous Stagecoach and school productions before she was 10 years old. In 1999 casting began in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered by agent via her Oxford teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were selected as three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first film appearance was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The movie beat all previous records for opening day and weekend sales, and it was the most-recorded 2001 movie. The critics were impressed by the film and its performance. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her outstanding performance. Emma received five nominations for her impressive performance. In the end, she received the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actresses of the Film.
